Navient joins fight for moms and babies in Indiana
MUNCIE, Ind., April 26, 2015 -Navient today joined other local employers and community leaders to support the March of Dimes Indiana Chapter "March for Babies" campaign. Employees participated in the 3-mile walk from Worthen Arena and southward through Ball State University campus to raise money to help more moms have full-term pregnancies and healthy babies.
"The March of Dimes is working to reduce the rate of premature birth, the number of babies born with birth defects and to help babies survive and thrive," says Todd Keirns, Board Chair, Central Indiana March of Dimes. "Thanks to support from local employers like Navient, the March of Dimes is making progress. Still, too many babies are born too soon or sick. We hope everyone takes part in walking together for stronger, healthier babies."
An estimated 250 supporters and volunteers participated in the East Central Indiana March for Babies.
"Our employees were proud to join other volunteers to participate in the campaign," said Clarice Gary, manager at Navient in Muncie, Ind. "We know our support of March of Dimes brings hope and health to mothers and babies in Indiana."
The Navient Foundation was the presenting sponsor for the campaign. Other sponsors included Meridian Health Services and MutualBank. Media partners included Woof Boom Radio; 104.9 WERK-FM, 104.1FM WLBC, 93.5FM MAX Classic Rock, and 96.7 BLAKE FM.
