Aug 22, 2014

WILKES-BARRE, Pa., Aug. 22, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Navient, the nation's leading loan management, servicing and asset recovery company, will host the ninth annual Navient Golf Outing on Monday, Sept. 15 at the Wyoming Valley Country Club in Hanover Township, Pa. The event helps raise funds to support early childhood development programs of the Luzerne County Head Start.

"Luzerne County Head Start is so grateful for the support that we receive from the staff at Navient," said Lynn Evans Biga, executive director, Luzerne County Head Start. "The proceeds that we receive from the annual golf tournament help us to increase our parent and child activities in our centers."

Navient Foundation, the company-sponsored philanthropic organization, awarded a $12,000 grant to help support the event.

Last year, Navient and its employees raised $30,000. This year, they hope to exceed that amount. Registration for the captain and crew tournament begins at 10 a.m. with shotgun start at 11 a.m. The registration fee is $500 per team or $125 per person. The fee includes golf, cart rental, lunch, dinner, a golf shirt and entry for prizes.
